PROJECT HUMAN
Ellie, an imprisoned resistance fighter, struggles with her identity to find where she belongs.
DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
As an immigrant woman filmmaker, I often find myself struggling with my identity, much like Ellie struggles with her human emotions. In our modern era where technology has engulfed our everyday lives, human interactions seem distant and cold, but knowing where you belong with your family and friends give meaning to happiness and a fuller life. In the end, I believe it is not about your gender or colour that defines you, but who you choose to be and where you choose to fit in. Just like in the story, Ellie realizes her humanity triumphs the machinery she is underneath, and she chooses to belong to humanity.

This documentary is an exploration of the many different cultures and people that populate the province of Pingtung. During our time in the country we travelled and explored the many cultures in Taiwan, and how they related to each other and our own ideas about these cultures.
DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
Taiwan is a beautiful country that I am proud to call home and wish to show the rest of the world what is offers. From beautiful landscapes of the small tropical island to the warm and welcoming people that inhabit the country, Taiwan represents such a different culture that contrasts so much with what I have experienced in the western world. Through this short film, I hope to collide both western and eastern worlds to show the difference between different lifestyles. In these short minutes, I wish to capture the moments that differentiate us from borders, to bringing us all together as a collective family from all around the world.
